Sometimes in this city you just have to get in the way. Outsiders hesitate at moments when assertion is necessary, the native city dweller, not so much. The New Yorker takes it to the extreme because in a city of millions only the extremes will get you what you want. I suppose that is where the stereotype of the loud obnoxious Yank comes from, but you know what? Screw 'em! You've got to fight for your right to party and if that means playing classical music in the middle of the crosswalk then those badly dressed europeans will just have to move aside.
