A long delay

Some of you might have thought this blog was defunct, and rightfully so, but here I am! Still alive, exploring, and trying to break away. So let's get right into it! Don't worry, this little one is still alive too. We came upon her a while back struggling on the beach and immediately called The Marine Mammal Center, another amazing nonprofit dedicated to helping our animal friends. As it turns out seals up and down the coast of California have been falling ill due to algae and bacteria growth explosions caused by the unseasonably warm waters. This too has effected other sea animals including crab introducing a very harmful neurotoxin significantly delaying the crabbing season, a huge economy here on the coast. I know this is a dark place to start with so much beauty this area has to offer, but it's important to confront and understand the damaging chain reactions that can occur with just a few degrees of change to the normal ecosystem. Our world is a much more delicate place than we realize.
