Juris Doctor

It poured yesterday, the entire day. As a tropical storm moved its way north and finally out into the Atlantic, New York City turned into a watery version of TV snow. Amongst the grey noise, my girlfriend Michele and I were attempting to make our way to Lincoln Center for she was graduating after three arduous years in Law School. Taxis were non-existent. After getting soaked and finally finding a cab, traffic was awful. A detour on the subway and we finally made it over 30 min late. It only makes sense that this trip had to be difficult and messy, mirroring the struggle necessary to get her here in the first place. In the end we made it, she walked with her colleagues and for an afternoon officially became an attorney (though now the New York State Bar will have something to say about that). Ele has accomplished, with infinite poise and patience, a big victory in one's life, and I am immensely proud of her.
