Between two avenues
I'm moving in on two years living in New York City. I like it here. Not enough to want to be here forever or anything, but its a nice place to live and I've a good routine here. The neighborhood I live in, while not perfect by any means, is an interesting place to be in itself. With a history of strife and drug abuse, it earned its reputation having born a certain generation of art and music which in recent years has been what is drawing hordes of fashionables to the area. On one side of my block you have the students and europeans with their brunch and boutiques, on the other you have the remaining locals that can still afford to live here and government supported housing. Then there is my block, a relatively quiet one amongst the battle of gentrification, a sort of neutral zone thats not really one way or the other. Pretty much sums up the time, being caught between two ways of life. For me, however, there has only ever been one way to go, forward. Looking forward to what year number three brings.
